Unknown Russian Stamps

Postby bidskw on Tue Jul 31, 2012 6:36 pm

I thought I posted this question earlier here - but I do not see it - so I will try again. I have been selling on BIDSTART for over 3 years now breaking up a large collection my father had put together for many years. I found this group of stamps in an album at the back for Finland. I do not believe this are Finland stamps - they look like Russian stamps to me but I can not find them under any country in the catalogs. Can someone identify any of these stamps for me ? My father is no longer able to help since he is in the early stages of Alzheimers and does not remember much about his collection anymore. Thanks, STEVE

Most (if not all) of them can be found under Far Eastern Republic in the Scott catalog. I'll leave it to you (or someone else) to specifically ID them. If there is one not listed in FER, then point it out and I (or someone else) will ID it for you.

Thanks for the information. I have to admit this is the first time I have even heard of this. I just checked them out in the catalog now. Thanks, STEVE

At the rear of every Scott catalog is a color illustrated stamp identifier. It is particularly helpful locating those tough stamps.
The link below will take you to over 24,000 items available for purchase in my store:
