This category needs some love and attention!

Only one thread since BidStart opened its doors 29 years ago? Has it been that long already? Sheesh, how the time flies.

Let's get the party rolling here. Everyone who has an antique of some sort or another, in their home, please list it here. Photos are appreciated, but not mandatory. :D

Hi Spidey...welcome to the gang...seems you've gotten yourself well-acclimated...

To the best of my knowledge, bidstart has been around for about 7 years, when it was stampwants. It only changed to bidstart about 2-3 (?) years ago, when it added everything else beyond stamps. (Where did the 29 years come from?!)

Lots of room to grow & build other categories, but been happening very slowly...

But I'll make the case that all the old stamps are, in fact, antiques!!

Thanks for the welcome, mdroth.

To answer your question.... Can we get some more smilies on here? One depicting facetiousness, and the facepalm smiley would be appreciated. Thank you.

No, I really felt sorry for this lonely category. I have an antique desk that I'm going to take a picture of, and post here to get the ball rolling. Eventually.

I haven't got the photos for my personal collection....

I have my great-great grandfather's desk. It's not handmade but an early manufacture. Years ago I was told it was worth in the neighborhood of $3000. To give you some perspective...he fought in the War Between the States.

I have my Mother's table from when she was a little girl, handed down from the people in the big house. It's either child size or a salesman sample. Comes with leaves like a real table.

DH has the Ives cast iron fire truck that was his father's as a boy. We took it to Antiques Rpadshow back in the 1990s. Didn't make TV because they already had done the category a few shows before. Got a verbal appraisal of $5 - 6 K at the right auction. It's almost complete, just missing the reins between the horses and the driver. Original paint is in great shape.

Lots of other stuff to sell one of these days.

Sounds like some great stuff. :) Are you going to list it on BidStart? You have nothing to lose if it's free to list.
