Feedback

Postby LickinGoodStamps on Thu Mar 15, 2012 8:00 am

Just wanted to share that as of last night & this morning, I have been unable to leave Positive feedback for my customers. Once I click the leave feedback for all items, the screen goes away & the yellow feedback star remains the same. I have now tried 4 times.

Any ideas?

P.S. I know there is another thread somewhere on this subject, and this situation may be duplicated, but I'm in a rush, and have not the time to search for it today. Sorry.

When I have trouble with leaving feedback, sometimes I have to go to the shipping status and show that it was shipped first before it will accept the feedback.

Don't ask me why. It just works that way sometimes for me. I posted about it a while back, but there was no response.

What you're describing is probably because of the following:

To avoid confusion, if you filter items, and then update the status of items in that filter, such as shipping or paid status, you'll see the change reflected in those items, but they won't immediately be removed.

For example, if you filter to see only 'Unshipped' items, and then select the 'Apply to All Items in Search/Filter' option, and bulk update the items to be shipped, you'll still see all of the same items, and the shipped icon and status will change. However, while we still show you those items to avoid confusion, they're no longer unshipped, so they no longer match your filter. So if you try to make a new bulk action with 'Apply to All Items in Search/Filter', such as leaving feedback. There would no longer be any matching items to change the feedback of. Because you're asking us to change the feedback on all of the unshipped items, which there are none in your Search/Filter anymore.

To avoid this issue, if you're filtering by paid or shipped status - you can either leave feedback first, before you change the paid or shipped status, or you can just refresh the page/section after you update the paid or shipped status.

Yes, I see that process, and I usually sort by unshipped when I am filling orders. However, sometimes when trying to leave feedback first, the system just hangs. I have to exit out of the feedback window, then I mark all the items in the filter (unshipped for that buyer) as shipped. Then I go back to the feedback and can leave it in bulk no problem for that buyer. So it is actually the opposite that happens now and then. Maybe I just hit a glitch once in a while. I don't know. I was happening quite frequently a couple of months ago. Since then it has only happened a couple of times.

Just an update which I should have included in my earlier post...

The Buyer has paid via PayPal, but the bidStart system does not reflect this.

And I always have the same sequence of events...

1) Verify Buyer has paid for the order.
2) Pack the order, prep the envelope & postage
3) Print off an invoice.
4) Pack all together & backstamp the envelope & seal it.
5) Set it aside for the next mail run (daily).
6) Mark "Shipped".
7) Leave (Positive) feedback.
8 ) Do the mail run.
9) wait... wait & wait some more for return feedback.

This sequence of events has worked well until our latest order... ( ? ).

Thanks for the valued input by all!

OH!... This is the case in BOTH IE8 & Chrome, of which I mainly use Chrome for my work. IE8 works best for my Bulk Uploads.

I deleted my post as the matter has been resolved. It was not a glitch on the system. The buyer took care of the overdue payment.

Re: Feedback

I've had two buyers claim they paid by PP and I had no record of either one, in PP or in bidStart. When I replied that they need to send me some transaction verification, I never hear from them. I neg those immediately and block them.

Lately I've had two distressing buyer behaviors happen, nothing serious but bothersome. I've had buyers purchase large numbers of items (over 50 in one case) and they either do not leave any feedback, or only leave feedback for one item. I'm not sure if they know how easy it is here to leave feedback for large numbers of items from one seller; it is a pain at the other place, for example, where you have to do them one at a time. Maybe some education for new members is needed?

The other trend is for buyers with decent feedback fail to pay or communicate, typically for a single item and typically auction wins. I'm not talking about the guy with zero feedback that made the 10c bid and won; I'm talking about someone who outbid other bidders and never paid, despite two invoices and over one month of no communication. Perfect feedback up to then, and feedback AFTER they bought my item. Are they not getting notices they won?

:hmm:

Not necessarily a new member problem. The trend I see going on is the guy buying one or two items with a dozen or so feedback, reciprocating as such. But the one with hundreds+ feedback and buying many stamps not returning feedback. Somewhat frustrating when you ship 80 - 90 stamps a month and show 2 feedback for the month. :hmm:

I know what you are talking about. I have some buyer that just don't leave feedback no matter the volume they buy.
