Most of my searches need to include the description since it gives me a better chance of finding something that may not be in the title (e.g., omnibus; Victoria; victory; silver jubilee; etc.), so it means one more step just to do a store search each time. (you know I'm all about keeping it to the fewest steps.)

Thanks.

Thanks; it doesn't revert back now.

Is there a chance the Search by Description could be placed at the Search box as before? :D

Mark,

I just noticed something in my listings in the new Stamp Wants. I use tables in my Description. When describing the table I use cellpadding=25 to put a little buffer around the data. When I look at the table in the New Stamp Wants, there is no buffer. Each box of the table surrounds the data. This happens in both IE7 and FireFox. Also in the New Stamp Wants in Firefox the Table is not centered. It is centered in the old version in Firefox. Any Ideas? Here is a lot number you can look at: 7110241

Thanks,
Bob

I did notice this as well - description boxes aren't centered....

Also, does the Advanced Search work? I tried to use it with an error message coming up (not sure if someone else pointed it out yet - sorry if they did!)

Comparing the two versions as far as listing speed, the old one is faster under Chrome. I stopped using Firefox when their memory problems became just too much to deal with. 3.5 comes out today which I hope is a significant improvement. If not, I'll stick with Chrome so I'm hoping that new SW under Chrome speeds up.

Chrome is Googles browser. Firefox was working great speed wise until 3.0. The internet is full of complaints about Firefox's speed so I know I am not alone.I will download Firefox 3.5 and tweak the settings as some have suggested and see if that speeds things up.

Thanks!

I use FireFox...

Is it slow for listing items for sale or general browsing for you?

If you're referring to the Sell Your Item process on the old/current StampWants and the NEW StampWants there really shouldn't be any speed differences. We did not make any changes to this page yet. Besides the colors being different it's the same exact page. We are planning on redoing the Sell Your Item process but haven't yet.

I notice that the date listed no longer appears in the New Stamp Wants. Is that true or is it only that I can't find it? I really like that feature.

I don't see it either. That is a feature I also like.

Mark,

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! for cleaning up the image upload text/instructions in the bulk uploader page. It is now much easier to read, and to find the link to get back to the listings waiting to be activated!

This has been added to the "Click Here for Full Shipping Details" section. Obviously the Start Date is not shipping information, but for now we felt this is the best place for it. The start date is generally not important and we don't want it to display by default. However, it wouldn't make much sense to create a section to hide just one thing, since then we might as well have it listed. So for now you can see the start date for any item by clicking on the "Click Here for Full Shipping Details" link on any item listing.

I guess it would give the potential buyer an idea of how stagnant the item is, and might influence a best offer price.

I have a cheesy but interesting idea for the new StampWants...

You should have a competition every month for people to vote for the "best" stamp dealer listed. You can have criteria such as good feedback standing, efficient shipping, price for quality, etc. etc.

In exchange for winning this vote every month, you can feature their store in the newsletter. I think this would promote the sellers which are well respected and a good image for StampWants.

It would also promote their selling and listing, make them list more, encourage people to buy from them, and be a good overall thing for the site.

Just an idea I was playing with!
