Peter,

I have these countries under British Commonwealth (everything's fine there) but as a second category I also had them under Africa. Should I not do this?

I agree that SW Africa is not the same as South Africa. Isn't there a UN mandate about SA governing SWA?

I believe there was such a mandate but to the collector, at least to this one :D , they are very different. The German and British SWA sets belong together, but SA (and all those smaller enclaves such as Venda) belong in a separate group.

Right now I have my Brit Comm listed similarly, so if there was a breakdown of British Commonwealth later, I would probably still select Africa-other as my secondary. There are many British Empire countries that probably won't merit their own category, like Basutoland and Orange River Colony, but I hope there will be a way to classify Ascension, Tristan da Cunha, BIOT, etc. into something like "British Pacific" or "British Oceanic Territories" etc.

Oh, so with the improvement I will now have to search multiple categories and sub-catagories. What are you trying to outdo...eBay?

What used to be Italy & Area is now broken up into 3 separate categories in Europe: Italy & Area, San Marino, Vatican and for the colonies I need to go Africa and do each individual country. This is completely nuts!

Is there a way to get Italy & Area and get all Italian related counties that will pull in all the subcategories of Italy, San Marino, Vatican, and the Italian Colonies (Eritrea, Somalia, Libya, etc.) [The same may also go for Spain & Area, French & Area]

I think we're on the same page :D

My problem is most of my second categories have been changed or are weird. So the stamps are not showing up in my store categories. I did my French colonies the same way. Ubangi-Shari is causing a problem - it's coming up right after Aden. Somali Coast's second category is now Somalia - that's an Italian colony.

I also noticed that San Marino was categorized under Russia :?:

When the BC expands I'll just copy from your store

I'm sure everything will be fine in a few days.

Actually, we're talking about store categories/sub categories. So if you went to a store, for example, and clicked on British Commonwealth you would get all the countries in alphabetical order. However, you could also choose a sub-category if you only wanted to see Rhodesia. All countries would work like this.

The main categories such as Africa on SW work the same way. If you click on Africa all the countries would come up but you could narrow your search by picking a sub-category.

It's really much nicer and I'm sure Mark can explain it better.

In many ways its nicer and faster if you want a single country. But...

What I am looking for is super categories that will pull in multiple sub categories and be sorted according to the sorting order specified. Italy & Area would pull Italian subcategories from Europe, Africa, etc. (The same for Spain & Area, France & Area, etc.)

If you can create your own super categories and save them that would be wonderful (eg. United States 1901-1940 UnUsed & 1941-Present UnUsed & Coils AND name it ) In that way you can see multiple categories all together sorted according to your sort order. [Maybe having multiple categories in Advanced Search (select multiple categories by holding "Ctrl" key down) and then save the search would do the trick.]

You don't need to always search in a category. For example just search for:

"Italy OR Marino OR Vatican"

and you'd get the same results as if they were all in one category.

Jeri,
Please use the Contact Us form to send us a detailed message as to what items you wanted to move in bulk and we will get to it when possible.

Oh Dusty, I was thinking along those lines. but the only thing we can do it keep bringing it to the attention of the board so they can hopefully delete the links, person, etc before they send our computers into computer heaven.

I knew exactly what you were thinking... Luree..... ...and I totally agree that continued reporting and our "commenting" is very important as I am sure admin can't be just here on the board..24/7....and I have confidence that admin will get to the bottom of this....sooner or later, of course sooner would be vey nice :D
Keep staying....you :)
