It was 124 something, but the screen disappears too fast...I remember playing this when it was in the arcade.

I finally had a "perfect" game. I held the mega-scuds until level 8 and then used them only to hit the triangles. I only had to use a mega-scud on two occasions other than the triangles, and both instances were late in the game so the bonus multiplier was small. Zero damage to the lunar bases, so no loss of repair points - I was SURE I had a new record - but instead 157K is shy of the 159K I posted previously. I'm sure I had some late lunar damage on the 159K game, so perhaps the path to 160K is different that I thought...

BTW, has ANYBODY even SURVIVED 20 levels of "hard"?

Well, bad news on Lunar Command. After MANY attempts, I FINALLY had a GREAT game playing the "hard" version. It's 25 levels instead of 20, and I was able to fully repair my bases and had 9 mega scuds left at level 25. I took a little damage, but not bad, and I still got less than 150K. So you not only have to BEAT the more difficult version, you probably have to MASTER it in order to better what you can do with a smooth game playing the "soft" version.

Kind of reminds me of my life... I worked my ASS off, through Engineering School at Case Western, NASA scholarships and working on space flights, going to Intel and building Pentium 4's, coming back and building nuclear reactors, always sacrificing and being diligent and working my way up. Then I look over at some other slackers and they're making more than me!! Sort of makes you go WTF! :wtf:

OK. Now I'm depressed. Time for Stampin!

Yeah, I hear you, Doug. The employee of the quarter here has the moto "I do whatever it takes to get the job done." Yeah, she sure does....she does nothing until the job is taken away from her and given to someone else. I have 2 of her projects now, and they are 2 years behind. Working one's ass off only primes one's ass for you know what....

Yup, I know what you mean. University of Illinois College of Engineering / Texas Instruments / Abiliene Christian MBA / University of Texas MS Computer Science - and then I find out all I REALLY had to do was lose my scruples along the way and get into the derivatives market where they play craps with everyone else's mortgage and retirement money. What a sweet deal to be a financial leech, sucking money out of the system.

Doug,

Your post was priceless..completely hysterical. You guys are always good for a laugh. CW - wow - but really you've clearly spent way too much time in Ohio. Playing with very dangerous toys.

But if we take a quick (bourbon-induced, obviously) glance here, we can see some clear patterns forming; we've got Lars & Michael with extended sentences in Texas, and Doug who thinks Cleveland is the big city. And after Abiliene Christian, even Kentucky sounds great. Look at all the engineering & computer expertise here; (you would think among you that you could figure out a way to tell blue-fricking paper from white!) all those finance guys in NY & DC can barely figure out a way to even order a cup of coffee, much less make one. Not 100% sure what Michael does in the almost sovereign country of Texas, but it certainly involves significant contact with postal employees, and we all know what's in their water. And Lars, what makes you think that the highest possible score is 160??

So Doug, you're certainly in good company. Can we officially call you a rocket scientist? You must be a whiz with programming the vcr. And rest assured, you're making much more than those "slackers" - you just haven't accounted for the fact that you take large chunks of your money & keep buying stamps...
