I bet the appeal of philately will shift from passively collecting to actively creating your own stamps, covers, postcards, maximum cards, souvenir pages, online personal exhibits, philatelic blogs, etc.
The young people of the Information Age will spend far less time, money, and effort on older stamps.
The alternatives for their leisure time are much more appealing.

Have you ever created a philatelic/postal item from the above-mentioned?

Don't be so pessimistic! We don't know what people's preferences would be in a decade or era. Maybe now people tend to ignore collecting as they have new values but the interest will grow again as it is always amazing held a piece of history in one's collection and know that you participate in this world evolution.
