Collecting stamps is my favorite hobby. I have a special interest in Norway, Sweden and Finland and general interest in Scandinavia. Also collect British Commonwealth with a specialty in St. Kitts, Nevis, Singapore, Ascension, Bahamas, Barbados, Pitcairn Island. Other intrests include USA and Japan plus a generalized World Wide Collection.On the side I also collect currency and coins
Also love to travel, but dislike flying. Enjoyed reading up until my eyesight began to fade. Now I use the iPod and listen to books from Audible.com most of the time. History is another favorite of mine, particularly the history of the Wars of the Roses, the American Revolution and the civil wars of both England and the United States. Also fit in a computer game or two every now and then (things like Civilization, Age of Empires, Europa Universalis, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Pirates and Railroad Tycoon).

Yes, we loved our trip to Norway and Sweden over the summer. Even had a chance to visit Hell in Norway. The people were all friendly and just about everyone spoke English... a dream for the language challenged like myself.
Broke the camera in Stockholm (butterfingers and the pavement was hard) so we had to go out and buy a new one. Though we do not have any pictures from that excursion, it was probably one of my favorite days. Arrived late for a tour of the Observatory and the guide found out we did not speak Swedish. The guide then asked the entire group if it was OK to do the tour in English and everyone agreed. Our guide even gave us the section of the tour we missed. We talked with our guide for a while and I guess it was not ordinary for Americans to visit the Observatory. Most of the tourists were German.
And boy, those breakfasts were great.

On some days yes... but I love wearing shorts and will wear them when others are in a jacket and staring at me like I am insane.
The dock was almost deserted that day. Probably saw two other people in the vicinity of the statue over a 45 minute period. We came on it quite by accident as we were just walking around a bit that day and had left the tourist area.
I do have a photo of just the statue if you want me to email it to you. You might enjoy it given your interests in the Scandinavian Island Nations. Who knows, you may find an opportunity to draw it into one of your covers.

I would LOVE to have a photo of that statue -- I collect the 6¢ Leif Erikson stamp of 1968 on FDCs and have done a few cachets for Iceland FDCs that include him! Thanks for the offer!
What does your background photo show?? I think maybe the most important part of the picture is being hidden by the 'business section' here on your Profile page.
