Thanks, Steve ---- I'm not as active with my Bufflehead Local Post as I would like to be. I have been a member of the Local Post Collectors Society for about 15 years.
I actually considered starting a Local Post Group here, but doubt there would be much interest. It's a very tiny niche in the big world of collecting!
Hey Dave, It looks like you picketed just in time. Glad the writers (and everyone else associated) will be back to work tomorrow. I do hope they got the deal they wanted for their work.
BTW Like the Bufflehead LP and Lord of the Rings tie in. That is my favorite book series (and the movies by Peter Jackson were pretty good too). Heard he was executive producing the Hobbit in 2009 or 2010.
The Writers' strike didn't directly affect me, as the shows I work on are not covered by that Union -- we do have an Animation Union, and the scripters I deal with are part of that group.
But for the sake of the economy here in L.A. it is a good thing the writers are going back to work.
Glad you like the Lord of the Rings BLP stamp. The Tolkien Estate is saying they got nothing from the producrers of the 'LOTR' trilogy!! I hope that doesn't hold up Jackson's 'Hobbit' - which I am looking forward to eagerly!

Thanks for posting the info and covers in Those Darn Vikings. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your write up and the covers were fantastic. Looking forward to more of your posts there.
It sounds like you are also a big fan of the Tolkien books as well. Certainly hope "The Hobbit" stays on schedule. I am really looking forward to it and hope P. Jackson is involved with it. He really did an excellent job in bringing the "LOTR" to the screen.
Without researching it, I don't believe they have actually started shooting 'The Hobbit' yet -- Peter Jackson is signed to direct, but they are in the pre-production stages right now, I think -- designing costumes, sets, scouting locations, debating casting, etc.

I'm glad you liked the Wombat -- I kind of got cold feet about the whole mascot idea and put off presenting it in the Groups. I kind of feel like I am overstepping my place here.
