The StampWants.com My Community section is a whole new way to enjoy StampWants.com. Through StampWants My Community, you can:

• Set up a My Community Profile page
• Customize Your My Community Profile page
• Share Stamp Interests and StampWants.com Listings
• Make Friends with other StampWant.com members
• Create and Join Groups based on specific stamp categories, clubs or interests
• Participate in our Forums (just click on Forums in the header)
• Participate in Group specific Forums
• Start your very own Stamp blog
• Read and comment on other members' blogs
• SHOUT in the ShoutBox (located on the home page of the My Community area)
• Wave Hello to other members
• Upload your photos and create photo albums
• And much, much more!

Setting Up Your StampWants My Community Profile

With so much to do in the new StampWants.com My Community section, where should you start? Well, we recommend you start by going to the My Account -> Account Settings first.

Here you can create your profile, and select which information you want to share with the rest of the StampWants.com My Community. Available options are:

• Items Matching My Want List
• I'm Bidding On
• Items I'm Watching
• Items I've Won

These 4 sections can display on your profile page, and can be shared with your groups on the group page. For each category of items you can individually select which information you want to share from the available options:

• Share with No One
• On My Profile
• With My Groups (Anonymously)
• On My Profile and with My Groups

Be default Items Matching My Want list are set to display on both, because these are just a sample of items selected by StampWants that we feel match your want list. So it can give a better idea of your interests, but does not necessarily give away any information you may want to keep secret, such as Items You're Watching.

By default Items You're Bidding on are not shown on your profile, but are shared with your groups.

By default Items You're watching are not shared with anyone.

By default Items You've Won are shared, since you can look this up anyway.

All of the four above categories of items are set as default as outline above, however you can easily change any of these options on the Account Details page.

On this Account Details page you can also set your gender (sex). If you do not wish to share this information you can change this setting to unknown. Additionally, at the bottom of the Privacy section you can also set to hide your Birthday if you do not want to share this imformation (your age). 

On the Account Details page you can also set other information about yourself, including your Stamp Interests.

Customize Your StampWants My Community Profile

By going to the My Account -> Customize My Profile section, you can easily set the background color or image of your profile, along with several other custimization options.

Create or Join a Group

One of the most innovative features to hit the philatelic world is the StampWants.com My Community Groups. Groups allow stamp collectors and dealers with similar interests to get together, and form a virtual club. In this Group you can have your own discussions in the Group forum, and better yet you can share your StampWants.com item interests with ease. The same items which can be shared on your profile page can be shared collectively in your groups! This will allow you to easily find items which match your interests, based on others who have the same interests as you.

To create a group or join a group just click on Groups in the StampWants My Community header.

Make Friends, Wave Hello and More

When you view another member's profile page you'll notice that under their picture will be several options, including "Add as Friend". When you add another member as your friends, after they confirm your request they'll show up on your Profile page as your friends, and you can easily visit their profiles.

Another option you will notice is the "Wave Hello" option. What's a wave hello? Well, it's just a friendly hello, a 'hey there', etc.

Leave Comments on Member's Profiles

On any members Profile page you can click "Post a Comment" to post a comment on their profile.

Participate in Forums

Before the start of the StampWants My Community area, the only way for users to interact outside of transactions (buying and selling stamps) was in the StampWants Forums. These same forums are an integral part of the new My StampWants area. Just click on Forums in the My Community header to get started.

In addition to the main forum area, you'll also notice that on the main page the latest posts from the Forums are displayed. Additionally, on any member's profile page, that member's latest posts from the forums will be displayed right on their profile!

Start a Stamp Blog

Ever wanted to start a blog but didn't know how? Now it's even easier than ever - just click on Blog in the My Community to get started. With a couple clicks you'll be writing your first blog! Blog as often as you want, and watch as other member's read your blogs and leave you comments! It's an exciting new way to share your ideas and philatelic information with the world!

Upload Profile Photos and Photo Albums

On the My Account -> Account Settings page you can even upload a picture of yourself. But the fun doesn't stop there. Visit the Photos area and set up entire albums! Share a stamp event you go to, a collection your proud of or anything else you want, the possibilities are endless!
