After over half a year in development we are proud to present an exclusive preview to our current members of the All NEW StampWants.com!
This is a preview only, and as such there are still a few things we haven't finished yet. Most notably the Recommended Items sections, new Category structure and Advanced Search page. However, we didn't want to wait any longer to let you try out all of the exciting, new, and enhanced features we have to offer!
Note: When browsing or searching at the top of the item list there is a "View" drop down menu box. Make sure this is set to "Standard" and not "Smaller Images". If you're coming from the current StampWants, this may be set incorrectly. Also, while you're at it feel free to try the new 'Gallery', 'Mini Gallery' and 'No Images' view modes too!
Recommended Requirements:
-We recommend that you use at least Internet Explorer v7, or Mozilla FireFox (www.firefox.com). Internet Explorer v6 is about 10 years old, and has many security flaws, serious bugs and is very slow. If you're still using it we urge you to upgrade or switch today.
-We recommend that you use at least a 1024x768 screen resolution.
Exciting New Features:
-The StampWants My Bar: The StampWants My Bar is a bar that sits on the bottom of your Internet browser. You can click to open a small preview window of items you are watching, bidding on, and recently viewed. All of which are updated in real time with current bid/end times. You'll also notice on the right hand side a "Notifications" area. Here you will receive new notifications for various events (such as when you are outbid on an item). At any time you can click this area to review your current and past notifications. When you get a new notification the count will increase (and bounce up and down so you notice it!)
-Searching: There are many new features to use when searching and browsing. You can now view who the seller is and what the shipping cost will be (to you based on where you and the seller live). You can click on the seller's username to view only items from that seller, or exclude any seller by clicking on the X to the right of their username. You will also notice a new "Refine Search" box on the left hand side, as well as a "Matching Stores" box.
-Item Listing Pages: The Item Listing page has been completely re-designed and is now simpler and more streamlined. Auction items are also now updated in real time, so there is no need to click refresh on your Internet browser!
These are just a few of the many exciting new features we have to offer! Be sure to explore our new website to experience all of our exciting and useful new features.
There are a few key difference in the NEW StampWants:
-Searching and Browsing are now better integrated. If you want to search within a specific category just select that category first by browsing using the category links on the main page or in the top header. Once you are in a category you can search directly within that category using the new and improved search bar. Alternatively, just search within all categories, and the use the 'Narrow by Category' feature to narrow down your results.
-Currently StampWants and CoinWants are separated into two websites. In the NEW StampWants we'll be combining StampWants and CoinWants, and also offering many additional main categories as well. However, if you're only interested in Stamps, don't worry! All main categories will now have their own home pages. So if you really want just bookmark the StampWants - Stamps home page.
