1) Tips and Tricks for Recommended Items
This week our Recommended Items feature debuted to great excitement. Many buyers have contacted us to thank us for creating such a helpful feature, and have been amazed by how accurate our recommendations have been. We've also received comments and suggestions on how we can make improvements, which we greatly appreciate and have already used to improve this exciting new feature.
If you haven't yet received a Recommended Items email - don't worry, you should soon. Each email we create is completely personalized to you, and we put a lot of work in to finding items we think you may be interested in. As such, it takes our web servers a fair amount of time to create each email, so we've spread the work out evenly across the week. If you're currently using the default setting of 'About Once a Week' you may not have received a Recommended Items email yet because we only started sending them out on Monday (4 days ago).
This brings us to our first tip - Recommended Items email frequency. By default we will send you a Recommended Items email about once a week. However, you can change this to 'About Twice a Month, 'About Twice a Week', 'Once a Day', or turn it off completely. We recommend that you use at least the 'About Once a Week' setting. However, you may want to consider receiving the Recommended Items email more often because you may miss out on some auction items which are only 1,3 or 5 days long (if they happen to both start and end in between when you receive your Recommended Items emails).
Our next tip is Favorite Sellers and Searches. Did you know that Recommended Items emails will contain a separate section highlighting newly listed items that match your favorite sellers, and favorite searches? If you have a seller that you enjoy dealing with and purchasing from, just add them to your favorite sellers list. This is quick and easy to do. From any item listing page on the right hand side under the 'Seller's Information' heading click on 'Add to My Favorite Sellers' Then, in your next Recommended Items email if any of your favorite sellers have listed any new items, we'll highlight some of those listings in a separate section for you! The same applies to favorite searches. When searching just click on 'Save Search' at the top of any item results list. Newly listed items matching that search will also appear in a separate section of your Recommended Items email!
