StampWants.com's forum board and community has been invaded by...TM the traveling Mousepad!
For over a year, TM's name appeared in almost every conversation. Curiosity about TM sky-rocked and soon our members were anxious to meet this cute little critter. Doug Noernberg, TM's founding father, began a mailing list containing the names of members who would expect TM's arrival. The list grew and Doug began to map TM's every visit. TM has traveled 52,000 miles and crossed two oceans. But how did this craze begin?
In July of 2007, Doug participated in a Heart Walk for the American Heart Association (AHA). Prior to the Heart Walk, Doug received an order of StampWants mousepads. To add color to the Heart Walk, Doug tied a string around one of the mouse pads to wear around his neck. Photos taken of Doug wearing the mousepad were shared with our StampWants community. Some of his close friends from StampWants loved the photos so much that TM was invited into their homes to expand upon his AHA photo scrapbook.
In celebration of TM's travels, Doug created a page within StampWants help which documented the cities and states TM visited. StampWants members frequently visited TM's page to view new photos and stories about his travels. Before sending TM off to another anxious family, members dressed him in warm clothing and made sure to pack plenty of extra belongings. Some of our members felt TM 'brought out the parent in them' as they waited for TM to 'call home' and notify them of a safe arrival. TM literally won the hearts of all as he gained new friends and helped raised an outstanding amount of support for the AHA.
TM's last public appearance will be during his Heart Walk on August 10. After the Heart Walk, TM will move into his new home. It is up to our StampWants members to decide where TM will permanently reside as bids are placed on its auction ending in less than 24 hours! 100% of TM's winning auction will benefit the AHA and TM will be safely shipped to his new loving family.
