Find a Similar Item Links Now Active; Plus Find Recommended Items Now in the My bidStart Area

We're proud to announce that the 'Find a Similar Item' links (previously the not yet functional 'Find a Similar Item (Coming Soon!)' links) are now active in the My bidStart area. When you expand the row of items in most sections, such as the Items I'm Bidding On, and Items I've Won sections, you can now click on the 'Find a Similar Item' link to find similar items.

Likewise, at the top of any item listing page, just below the item id number, you can also click to view similar items. It's important to note that similar items are not just the same items. They are items which are similar to the item you're currently viewing, that we believe you may also have an interest in.

On a similar note, we've also replaced the advertisement banner at the top of all My bidStart buying pages. Instead of seeing a third party advertisement, we'll now recommended items to you based on either your past purchases, or items you've recently viewed. This feature takes up the same amount of space as the previous advertisement did, so it won't change the overall layout of the page. However, we believe this will be a much better use of space, and hope to help you find items you'll love without even needing to search for them!
