This is just a part of some of the overall design changes we are currently working on. These new changes are designed to provide a simpler, less cluttered design. We hope you enjoy the current changes, and look forward to working with you and hearing your input as we continue this project. 2) User Newsletters Lead to Record Sales in January We've done the research and the results are in. User Newsletters were in fact mostly responsible for January's record sales – 53,253 items sold. User Newsletters are part of the Featured Premium Store Subscription level (and higher) and allow sellers to easily send out email newsletters to their previous customers. During the month of January, we offered this feature as a free upgrade for sellers. Here are the results from those sellers who participated in this promotion: In January, there were a total of 34 users who sent out user newsletters. During the previous month, December (2008) the total sales for those 34 users were: 5,095 Items Sold for a total of $63,205.91. Those same 34 sellers had the following sales in January, while using the User Newsletter feature: 12,893 Items Sold for a total of $154,963.34. That's right - sales by volume and price more than doubled! So, yes, the driving factor in January was without a doubt User Newsletters, and that was from only 34 sellers who participated during our promotion! For only $15 more per month than a standard Featured Store Subscription, the Featured Premium Store Subscription is clearly worth the extra cost! However, this single feature is such a significant help to buyers, sellers, and the site in general, that we want to make it even more enticing (if the above report is not enough alone). Once our January promotion expired, more than half the sellers using the feature in January, downgraded their store subscription. However, if we can get enough additional sellers to commit to the Featured Premium Store Subscription level (who do not already have one or higher) we'll lower the price to $19.95 per month (only $10 more than a standard Featured Store Subscription). This wouldn't be a one month promotion, but the current set price for all sellers (including those already subscribed). Speed Improvements are Here! We've made speed improvements to the delivery of our pages. Not the page generation (the time you see at the bottom of every non forum page), but delivery. Delivery is the time it takes for your computer to download a page from our server (after our server has generated the page). These improvements allow us to deliver pages 4 times faster then we could before. For most high speed users this will make very little difference.
